ABOUT
Caroline is a lifelong student of the visual arts & entered the field of tattooing in 2005. She relocated to Chicago in 2008 from her hometown of Louisville, KY. Her studies in fine art drawing, painting & sculpture were continued to complete a BFA at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012.
After 7 years of walk-in shops in Chicago, she went on to open Copperplate Tattoo in the spring of 2015, a private studio named for her mom’s printmaking practice of copperplate etching. It is a calm, safe, & welcoming place.
She and her husband Jonathan Pool of Exploding House Printing, often collaborate on projects of their own as well as with many beloved local businesses.
